Midsummer

Midsummer in Sweden
Midsummer is a Swedish solar energy company that develops, manufactures and sells solar cells and modules to construction, roofing and solar module installation companies. The company also develops and sells equipment for the production of flexible thin film solar cells to strategically selected partners and machinery for research. The solar cells are of CIGS technology (consist of copper, indium, gallium and selenide) and are thin, light, flexible, discreet and with a minimal carbon footprint compared with other solar panels.

The solar roofs are produced using the company’s own unique DUO system which has taken the position as the most widespread manufacturing tool for flexible CIGS solar cells in the world. The Company’s shares (MIDS) are traded on Nasdaq First North Growth Market with G&W

Midsummer in Italy

In 2020 Midsummer AB took the decision to invest in a production facility in Bari in southern Italy and Midsummer S.r.l was founded. At this production facility there will also be a Research & Development department. The reconstruction work and the installation of machines are well under way and production is planned to start during 2024.

Fully operational, the factory in Bari can produce 50 MW of solar cells per year, making it the largest of its kind in Europe. Midsummer Italia has already signed letters of intent for two-thirds of the Italian factory’s maximum production capacity with seven national players in construction and roofing.
