A somewhat humble beginning for a company that has become a world leader in diesel engines for marine and industrial use. Volvo Penta supplies industrial power systems (power generation and off-road) with superior features in terms of performance, fuel efficiency, uptime and cost of ownership.

Volvo Penta is furthermore the strongest brand name in the leisure boat industry and world’s largest supplier of diesel engines to recreational powerboats and sailboats. It supplies also power systems for commercial craft. Coast guards, port authorities and shipyards all over the world use Volvo Penta’s reliable and low-emission engines for passengers transports, supply vessels and offshore energy, patrolling and sea rescue operations.
